About the Concert

The project Creative Workshop of Young Choreographers was set up at the Mariinsky Theatre several years ago. It is aimed at searching for new talents and new choreographic ideas as it gives the newcomers full freedom in choosing music, choreographic style and performers. In accordance with the initial regulations of the ballet company management, the best works presented at the Workshop are added to the Mariinsky Theatre repertoire. However, such a fate is not for all the compositions, therefore visiting the Workshop is a unique opportunity to become the first and, possibly, the only audience of new productions. This year the project brings on board new participants – favorite dancers with the public and foreign guests will try their hand at choreography. Also the regular participants of the project will present their new works.
