The programme includes works by Sergei Rachmaninoff, Viktor Kalinnikov, Veljo Tormis, Kirill Molchanov, Alfred Schnittke, Pavel Chesnokov, George Frederick Handel, Joseph Haydn, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Hank Beebe and Oleg Khromushin and choral arrangements of Russian folk songs

The Senior Concert Chorus of the April Mikhailusov Children’s School of Music was established in Dimitrovgrad in 1992. The chorus’ repertoire includes works from various eras and styles including both contemporary music and folk songs.
In the twenty-two years since it was created, the chorus has given some three hundred concerts and performed more than two hundred and fifty works The ensemble has appeared in Ulyanovsk, Samara, Tolyatti, Penza, Moscow, St Petersburg, Kazan, Cheboksary and the Orlyonok and Artek children’s centres.
The chorus has been a prize-winner at Russian and international competitions and was awarded the title of “Amateur Folk Ensemble” and the honorary title of “Exemplary Children’s Ensemble” by the Department of Education and Socialisation of Children of the Ministry of Education and Science.
In 2014 the ensemble appeared as part of the United Children’s Chorus of Russia.
Five soloists of the chorus have taken part in a concert by the Children’s Chorus of Russia at the Mariinsky Theatre, the Closing Ceremony of the Sochi Olympic Games and a concert programme in Crimea commemorating Russia Day.
The entire ensemble appeared together with the United Children’s Chorus of the Ulyanovsk Region at the VI International Leontieva Film Festival and the XI Oblomovsky Festival in Ulyanovsk.
In Dimitrovgrad the chorus frequently gives recitals and is a regular participant in any significant municipal event.
