Sergey Tanin was born in 1995. He is a graduate of the Bosikov High School of Music of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Since 2014, he has been a student of Irina Plotnikova at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Sergey Tanin has given recitals at the Moscow Conservatory, the Moscow International House of Music and the St Petersburg Philharmonia; he has also toured Kazakhstan, Germany, Spain, Finland, France and Switzerland. He has performed as a soloist with the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, the Musikkollegium Winterthur (Switzerland), the Bremen Philharmonic, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, the Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Symphonica ARTica symphony orchestra of the State Philharmonic of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
Sergey Tanin is a prizewinner at several competitions in Russia, Finland and Germany. In 2018, he was awarded the 3rd prize and the Audience Prize at the Geza Anda International Piano Competition in Zurich.
