Gleb Peryazev was born in Irkutsk in 1994. First singing lessons he took from Honoured Artist of Russia Nikolai Proshin. Then studied under Vladimir Vaneyev at the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia (St Petersburg; graduated in 2018 with master’s degree). From 2020 to 2022 he was an assistant trainee at the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory (class of Vladimir Vaneyev).
From 2015 to 2017 the singer perfected his skills at the Elena Obraztsova International Academy of Music (St Petersburg).
In 2014 he appeared for the first time at the Opera and Ballet Theatre of the St Petersburg Conservatory, performing the role of Vasily Sobakin (The Tsar’s Bride).
In 2017 Gleb performed the role of a Servant in Macbeth at the Staatsoper Hamburg, a few months later he took part in the Salzburg Festival’s Young Singers Project and made his festival debut as the Steward (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk) and as Don Apostolo Gazella in concert performances of Lucrezia Borgia.
Guest appearances in the 2017–18 season included Quinault (Adriana Lecouvreur) during the Mariinsky’s visit to Baden-Baden, Colline (La Bohème) with the Greek National Opera in Athens, the bass solo in Verdi’s Requiem at the Brucknerhaus Linz and Narumov (The Queen of Spades) at the Salzburg Festival. He has sung at the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos (Lisbon), Rimini’s Teatro Amintore Galli, the Teatro Juárez (Guanajuato, Mexico), the Philharmonie de Paris, Beijing’s National Centre for the Performing Arts and Nanjing’s Jiangsu Grand Theatre.
Appeared at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, the Moscow Philharmonic Society, the St Petersburg Philharmonia, the Astrakhan State Theatre of Opera and Ballet, the Zagursky Irkutsk Regional Musical Theatre and the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre among other Russian venues.
In 2016 Gleb Peryazev made his Mariinsky Theatre debut as December in Rodion Shchedrin’s A Christmas Tale. Has sung over thirty parts there. In 2021 he became a fellow of the Atkins Young Artists Program at the Mariinsky Theatre. In 2022 he joined the Mariinsky Opera Company.
