• Prize-winner at the 18th Lydia Abramova Bella voce International Student Vocalists’ Competition (Moscow, 2012; 1st prize)

Egor Chubakov was born in 1987 in Tashkent. He graduated from the Voronezh State Academy of Arts in 2013 (class of Professor Mikhail Podkopayev). In the 2013–14 season he worked at the Voronezh State Opera and Ballet Theatre where he performed the roles of Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus) and Prince Yeletsky (The Queen of Spades).

Since 2014 he has been a soloist with the St Petersburg Chamber Opera. There he performs the roles of Lord Henry Ashton (Lucia di Lammermoor), Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus), Onegin (Eugene Onegin), Silvio (Pagliacci), Marcello (La Bohème), Valentin (Gounod’s Faust), Ferdinand (Betrothal in a Monastery), Marullo (Rigoletto), Edwin (Die Csárdásfürstin), Figaro (Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia) and Junius (The Rape of Lucretia).

Egor made his Mariinsky Theatre debut in Pelléas et Mélisande by Claude Debussy in the fall of 2019.
