Eva Gevorgyan


Eva Gevorgyan was born in Moscow in 2004. In 2022 she graduated from the Central Music School of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (class of Natalia Trull), since that year Eva has been a student of the conservatory (class of the same teacher). She is also studying at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid (class of Stanislav Ioudenitch). Previously Eva had studied under Stanislav Ioudenitch, William Grant Naboré and Dmitri Bashkirov at the International Piano Academy Lake Como and under Andrea Bonatta at the Piano Academy Eppan (Italy). Has taken part in masterclasses given by Pavel Gililov, Grigory Gruzman, Piotr Paleczny and Klaus Hellwig.

Grant recipient of the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein, the Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation and the New Names foundation. Prize-winner at the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth (Szafarnia, Poland, 2014; 1st prize), the Santa Cecilia International Competition (Porto, Portugal, 2015; 1st prize), the International Giuliano Pecar Piano Competition (Gorizia, Italy, 2016; Grand Prix), the International Competition for Young Pianists Astana Piano Passion (2017; 2nd prize and Audience Award), the International Robert Schumann Piano Competition (Düsseldorf, 2017; 1st prize), the International Competition for Young Pianists Grand Piano Competition (Moscow, 2018; five special prizes), the Cleveland International Piano Competition for Young Artists (2018; 1st prize and prize for the best performance of a work by Bach), the Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition (Dallas, 2019; 2nd prize and Press Award), the Chicago International Music Competition (2020; Grand Prix and prize for the best performance of a work by Chopin) and the International Piano Competition Jeune Chopin for Children and Youth (Martigny, Switzerland; 1st prize) among other contests. Took the Prize for the Youngest Female Finalist at the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition (Warsaw, 2021). Won 3rd prize and the Bronze Medal at the Rachmaninoff International Competition for Pianists, Composers and Conductors (Moscow, 2022).

Has taken part in the Verbier Festival, the Duszniki International Chopin Piano Festival (Poland), the Eilat Chamber Music Festival (Israel), the Music Fest Perugia and the festivals Stars on Baikal (Irkutsk), ClaviCologne (Cologne) and Piano Without Borders (Kazan) to name but a few. Has toured to Great Britain, France, the USA, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Spain, Italy, Liechtenstein, Israel, Armenia, Ukraine, Latvia, Estonia and Malta.

Has collaborated with such ensembles as the Mariinsky Orchestra, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia (Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra), the Russian National Orchestra, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia, the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bacău Philharmonic Orchestra (Romania).

Has worked with conductors including Valery Gergiev, Alexander Sladkovsky, Vasily Petrenko, Lawrence Foster, Dimitris Botinis, Gerhardt Zimmermann, Eduard Topchjan, Pyotr Gribanov and Ilmar Lapiņš.

In 2019 she received an ICMA (International Classical Music Award) in the category “Discovery of the Year”, was a prize-winner at the All-Russian Competition Young Talents of Russia and also gave a recital at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

In 2020 Evgeny Kissin has selected Eva as a grant recipient of the Klavier-Festival Ruhr.
Participant in programmes of the St Petersburg Music House since 2020.
In 2021 she received the title of “Young Yamaha Artist”.
