Melanie Hamrick


Choreographer

Born in Virginia, USA, Melanie Hamrick trained at the Kirov Academy of Ballet where she studied with Alla Sizova, Oleg Vinogradov, Yelena Vinogradov, Nicolai Morozov and Adrienne Dellas. She attended the summer intensives at the School of American Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. Joined American Ballet Theatre in 2004.

Her repertoire includes roles in Giselle (Moyna), La Bayadère (D'Jampe, trio of the Shades), Swan Lake (a big swan, pas de trois and the Spanish Dance), Le Corsaire (Odalisques), Don Quixote (Flower Girl), The Sleeping Beauty (Candide) in Alexei Ratmansky's version, Les Sylphides (Prelude and Mazurka) by Michel Fokine, Apollo (Calliope) by George Balanchine, Sylvia (Diana and Terpsichore) by Frederic Ashton, as well as roles in the ballets by Antony Tudor, Merce Cunningham, Mark Morris, Benjamin Millepied.

Hamrick's choreography debut will be to the music by the Rolling Stones edited by Mick Jagger.
