Larisa Gergieva is Artistic Director of the Mariinsky Academy of Young Singers, General Director of the International Rimsky-Korsakov Young Opera Singers' Competition and the International Lisitsian Competition, Artistic Director of the International Summer Academy (Finland), Artistic Director of the Vladikavkaz Opera and Ballet Theatre and jury member of many international competitions. She has worked as a coach at the world's leading opera houses, among them the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, Covent Garden, Tokyo Opera, the Salzburg Festival and theatres in San Francisco, Florence and Paris.

Larisa Gergieva performs with renowned Mariisnky Theatre singers as well as her student soloists from the Academy at venues including Carnegie Hall, La Scala, La Monnaie (Luxemburg), the Grand Théâtre (Geneva), the Colón (Buenos Aires) and Wigmore Hall (London), as well as running regular master classes in russian vocals in the USA, the UK, Finland, Canada, Germany, Italy, France and Japan.

Larisa Gergieva has received numerous prestigious awards and diplomas at international competitions. Larisa Gergieva has been involved in the production of Cds in the UK, Germany and Russia (Philips Classics, EMI, Harmonium and Delos). The 2006-2007 season saw performances in New York (Carnegie Hall), London (Wigmore Hall), San Francisco, Los Angeles, Paris, Brussels, Madrid, Rome, Milan, Valencia, Turkey, Beijing, Lisbon, Austria and New Zealand.

On 24 October, instead of the planned performance of the opera Duke Bluebeard’s Castle and an evening of piano music, at 15.00, the Mariinsky Theatre will now be staging a premiere of the opera Věc Makropulos (The Makropoulos Affair).

On 28 October
, the opera Die Frau ohne Schatten at the Mariinsky Theatre will now commence at 18.00 and not at 19.00 as previously announced.
